Bring the kids along to the free activities at all of our libraries during the July school holidays.

For our school holiday activities, we will be running drop-in sessions with a librarian there to help you get started, then letting you take as long as you need to create and learn.  Our activities are inspired by the 7 whetū of Matariki and are appropriate for those aged 5-15. Younger siblings are welcome with supervision.

Our activities include:
Matariki: colour in and fold a Matariki fortune teller / sew a scented pillow

Tupu-ā-rangi: create a bird feeder

Tupu-ā-nuku: create a bug hotel

Ururangi: build a manu aute / make a porotiti

Waipuna-ā-rangi: build a rain gauge

Waitā: build a fishing rod and catch some paper ika

Waitī: make music using glasses of water
